ICF Level 1 Coach Training Program
25-Module Curriculum

Program Duration: 6 months
Total Hours: 72 synchronous + 10 mentor coaching
Format: 24-hour in-person immersion + 25 virtual modules

Program Overview
Program Structure
- Phase 1: In-Person Immersion (24 hours) – Foundations of Coaching as a Way of Being
- Phase 2: Core Skills Integration (Modules 2-14, 26 hours)
- Phase 3: Applied Coaching Conversations (Modules 15-24, 20 hours)
- Phase 4: Coaching Career & Legacy Pathways (Modules 25-32, 16 hours)
Learning Framework
The Lumina Navigation System integrates three powerful coaching tools:
- ILLUMIN8™: 8 principles for coaching presence and mastery
- Clarity Compass™: 4 directional anchors for values-driven coaching
- MAPS™ Framework: Structured session flow for clarity and outcomes
ICF Alignment
All content is aligned with the 2025 ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. Every module maps directly to specific ICF competencies to ensure you are prepared for your Level 1 Certification & ACC credentialing, and your rise to world class coaching both in service and delivery.
Program Outcomes
By the end of this program, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate and understand all 8 ICF Core Competencies at ACC level in recorded coaching sessions
- Apply the Lumina Navigation System (ILLUMIN8™, Clarity Compass™, MAPS™) with fluidity and presence
- Conduct coaching sessions that honor ICF ethical standards and create transformational client outcomes
- Navigate complex coaching conversations with confidence, curiosity, and cultural humility
- Complete 100+ coaching hours (working toward ACC 100-hour requirement)
- Submit recorded coaching sessions for ICF performance evaluation
- Articulate your personal coaching philosophy and signature coaching model
- Join the Lumina Legacy community as a certified Legacy Coach
What to Expect
Before Each Module (Asynchronous)
- Review module learning objectives and ICF Core Competencies
- Complete any pre-work (readings, reflections, or prep exercises)
- Prepare questions or insights to bring to the live session
During Each Module (2-hour live session)
- Engage in teaching, demonstration, and discussion
- Practice coaching skills in triads or dyads with peer feedback
- Receive faculty coaching and real-time adjustments
- Integrate ILLUMIN8™, Clarity Compass™, and MAPS™ into practice
After Each Module (Asynchronous)
- Complete reflection journal prompts
- Practice with peer coaching partners (1-2 hours/week recommended)
- Log coaching hours and document learning edges
- Prepare for upcoming Observed Labs or assessments
Assessment Checkpoints
You will receive ongoing feedback throughout the program through multiple assessment methods:
- Self-Assessment: You will assess your own coaching using ICF rubrics at 6 key milestones
- Peer Feedback: Your cohort will observe and provide constructive feedback in triads
- Faculty Assessment: PCC and MCC faculty will review your recorded sessions in 5 Observed Labs
- Mentor Coaching: 10 hours of personalized coaching on your coaching from PCC/MCC mentors
Technology & Tools
All live sessions will be conducted via Zoom. You will need:
- Reliable internet connection
- Webcam and microphone (headset recommended for best audio quality)
- Zoom account (free version is sufficient)
- Recording capability for Observed Labs (Zoom, Otter.ai, or similar)
- Access to Google Drive for shared resources and templates
Time Commitment
Plan for approximately 4-6 hours per week:
- 2 hours: Live module session
- 1-2 hours: Pre-work and reflection journaling
- 1-2 hours: Peer coaching practice
- 1-2 hours: Client coaching (building toward 100 hours)
- 1-2 hours: Review recordings, integrate feedback, self-assessment
Attendance Policy: It is highly encouraged for all learners to attend at least 80% of live sessions (60 of 75 hours) to receive your Certificate of Completion. If you miss a session, review the recording and complete the reflection assignment to maintain engagement.
